catching up.

As usual, I've fallen behind on posting. So here's a compilation of all the outfits I never got around to posting...

one sweater. three ways.

This is what I wore to a wedding last weekend. I've never been to a wedding that wasn't during the warmer months. So I played a little dress up and put this look together.

The same day of the wedding I had a photoshoot. I had about 10 mins to get from the park to the church so I needed a quick change. Same sweater but with jeans and my new scarf which was a gift from my cousin.

Last but not least. I got the skirt on sale the night before and I couldn't wait to wear it. The scarf was a last minute decision because it was FREEZING cold outside. Not to mention I liked my hair and makeup a lot that day too.

patriotic.

Some of you may know that I'm an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay. I recently placed an order and since I get my makeup half off I decided to get some red lipstick just for fun.

I think I like it the most because I feel like Taylor Swift when I wear it.

I really love this outfit. I don't know what it is about it. I just do. It's one of my favorites. And it was a good hair day so that's always a plus.

long time no see

Hey! With all the excitement (or whatever you wanna call it) on my regular blog I haven't posted on this one in a long time! I didn't completely forget though. I've still been taking some pictures here and there. I just get side tracked and don't post them. But here's a few of them!
And as a bonus, I'll throw one in of my hair. I tried to make it look fuller since it's usually so flat.

dots.

What I wore to church Sunday. Featuring my adorable niece, Haley. When I took the picture, she looked at the flowers and said "they're soooo pretty!" After church John and I spent the day with her and had so much fun. I love having so many nieces and nephews in John's family.

versatile.

Same top. Same pants.

Different hair style. Different shoes. Added sweater. Added glasses.

Today's tip: You can wear one thing so many different ways. When you're shopping, look for pieces that will match other things. For example, if you have the option of buying a bright neon shirt that would pretty much only go with denim jeans, or a floral top (like this one) that can go with different pants, sweaters, and other accessories, go with the versatile one. It's like buying multiple outfits without spending all that money.

Q&A

Q: What do you do when your mom finds a 2XL size shirt with Kelly Kapowski's (from Saved By The Bell) face on it?

A: You buy it and cut it into a slouchy shirt.

I just adore the show Saved By The Bell. That Zach Morris... *swoon*. But what I like about Kelly Kapowski is that the same actress who plays her is also on one of my all time favorite shows, White Collar.

Kelly is my homegirl.

the proposal.

Well, I've worn this outfit before. But this time it was made a whole lot more exciting because I GOT ENGAGED IN IT. my church took a day trip to the DC zoo and that's where John popped the question.

The lesson here is: always care about what your outfit looks like. you never know when you'll get proposed to.

grown up.

I feel very grown up wearing this outfit. To me, I look like an adult instead of a 16 year old (like I usually do). I think it's the wedges. Their one of my favorite pairs of shoes for the following reasons:

1. They aren't too fancy, but they're just enough to dress up your jeans.

2. They go with so many different outfits.

3. They're really comfy and easy to walk in. Fun fact: I did a scavenger hunt in these bad boys before. We won. Another reason I like these shoes.

In other news, I got a new bag. It was $15 at Payless and I just love it. It holds so much stuff in there I feel like Mary Poppins. And look at it. It's just so pretty.

men's clothing.

The other day my friends and I went on a flea market/goodwill adventure. We got some old man sweaters and I also got a men's Ralph Lauren shirt. So far I'm loving them. And clearly they go well with my maroon pants.

Best part was all three things were $11. What a splendid purchase. Splendid indeed.

past due

i know, it's been a while. life has been cray cray the past month. my apologies. but let's cut to the chase.

the day i wore this it was warm out. i'd like if that could happen again cause it's spring now and i'm sick of the frigid weather. that blouse is sheer so it's great for warmer weather without dressing like it's summer.

let's talk about this outfit. i like this one a lot. the scarf was a late late christmas present from my best friend. the jacket (which is navy) was from my great grandma who is 93. she was getting rid of it so i snatched it up. it pays to have a grandma who cares about looking stylish. my boots, well i think its the first time i've ever worn them rolled down. my mom hated it but i liked it. what do you think about them?

same necklace, different day (sort of)

hello there!
welcome to my first official post.

i guess this is where i describe the outfits or something like that.

first, we have a cozy-hipster look going on.
see that green sweater? i got it at goodwill for a couple cents a while back. i didn't start wearing it til about two weeks ago. it happened when my house felt like it was 30 degrees. i didn't want to put on a hoodie and mess up my hair. and i don't have zip up jackets. i looked over and it was hanging in my closet looking at cozy and warm. and indeed it was.

despite my brother informing me i looked like an ugly grandpa, i was way too cold to take it off so i wore it to a youth conference that evening. that began it all...
once again, in the photo above it was one of those "30-degrees-in-the-kelly-house" days. the sweater is so comfy it feels like you're getting a hug all day long.

next you'll see what i wore to youth group last night. i was wearing the same necklace i wore with the cozy green sweater, but i ended up teaching a dance to the youth group kids and had to take it off cause it jangled too much. after i took the picture i realized i didn't have it on but allison was feeling way too lazy to redo it. so imagine what it looks like with that necklace on. it's like the finishing touch.

first post!

so i finally did it! i made a fashion blog.

after much suggesting from friends and being inspired by my favorite blogger, Kendi Everyday, i finally got around to making my own.

so until i actually make my first post, here's a rather large compilation of previous outfit pictures from before i had my blog. feast your eyes on these bad boys.
